Vehicle Protection Project Engineer
Gaydon, Warwickshire, England
£23.90 - 23.90 per hour

The primary activity will be to deliver vehicle protection solutions at all manufacturing facilities. The aspects of the role are as follows:

  • Solution development to program targets.
  • Coordination of validation testing.
  • Supplier nominations/tendering.
  • Report-out at sub-system team reviews.
  • Design release and management of engineering change.
  • Creation and management of timing plans.
  • Maintenance of all project team documentation and Programme reports.
  • Drafting and issue of Engineering Standards.
  • Production line trials of engineering solutions.
  • Coordination of Plant Quality, Production and Supplier issues.
  • Liaison with manufacturing teams.


Skills Required:
Proven project management capability, ideally encompassing work with suppliers. General Engineering knowledge of Body components, design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements. Logical and methodical approach to component applications, verification and validation. An understanding of Engineering Standards. Effective communicator with strong organisational, presentation and numerical skills. PC Literacy in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc. Working knowledge of change management processes: AIMS, WERS, PACN.

Skills Preferred:
CAD literacy, ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use of associated visualisation tools would be an advantage. Working knowledge project delivery processes, PCS/GPDS/PPAP. Experience in the use of engineering tools, FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution (8D) etc.

Experience Required:
Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector at an OEM or tier #1 supplier.

Experience Preferred:
Ideally within the automotive sector or adjacent industries, e.g. rail, aerospace, defence, energy etc.

Education Required:
Ideally degree educated, in a relevant field or subject.

Additional Information:
The role is Gaydon based but will involve regular travel to Castle Bromwich, Solihull and Halewood plants.
