Materials Manager

£38k - 45k per year
Key to this role is to manage the supply of materials to assure timely availability of Materials in support of 100% on-time delivery to customers, including extensive external supplier contact and communication, component forecasting, scheduling and stocking processes. To manage company assets to minimise investment in inventory without jeopardising supply
• Responsible for managing and optimising all Material deliveries to support achievement of 100% on-time delivery of product through team leadership and procurement processes.
• Schedules, orders and coordinates availability with material spend of c£60m.
• Together with Material Supply Leaders, manages plant inventory resources
• Organise annual stock take for the Operations area.
• Manage 3rd Party logistics provider for Inbound and UK distribution.
• Ensures development of Supplier Relationships.
• Control of Consumable stores.
• Set and control raw inventory levels in line with business targets for world class turns.
• Manage, develop and support both the internal individuals and team as well as those based in other areas
• Lead and promote functional, company and industry standards
• Lead the Material Supply team to deliver the Materials Strategy
• Provide information and support to promote other functions to operate efficiently to the benefit of the customer and company
• Support VPI (new product introduction) to ensure it is timely and satisfactory
