Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.

They are currently seeking to recruit a Chassis Support Launch Engineer on a 6 month contract basis. The role will be based at a vehicle assembly plant, so travel may be required between plants, suppliers and the main site in Coventry.

The individual will work as part of the engineering launch team, reporting to the Chassis Lead Engineer and will be responsible for the following:

- Chassis engineering launch support activities.
- Coordination of activities to ensure robust delivery of chassis components and systems.
- Resolution of launch issues directly where appropriate or through escalation to the chassis engineering team where applicable.
- Liaise with manufacturing and/or other engineering disciplines and deliver holistic resolutions to issues.
- Coordination of Change Management (Release), Issue Management (AIMS), Rework instructions for post build vehicle updates and Component deviations prior to and during build.
- Coordination and reporting of status and issues throughout the on-line build process
- Support and liaise with suppliers and customers during project activities regardless of location.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Degree qualified or similar qualification
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Effective negotiator and motivated self starter
- Strong literacy, numeracy and logical reasoning
- Innovative and versatile and able to balance multiple requests and support requirements
- Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service
- Demonstrate depth of knowledge in chassis systems.
- Component and programme delivery experience
- Ability to work under pressure of delivery
- Proficient in the use of MS Powerpoint, Word, Excel and web based applications
- Knowledge of change management processes, AIMS, WERS, PACN
- Knowledge of GPDS / FPDS
- Manufacturing and product development experience.
