We seek a Senior Development Engineer (Drivetrain) for an initial 12 month contract based in Shrewsbury.

THE COMPANY:

Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services is located in Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Using a host of remanufacturing technologies, the facility receives engines and a range of other components from customers and cleans, refurbishes, reassembles and updates them in line with the exacting standards set by Caterpillar.

THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a team of engineers responsible for the development of engines and powertrains for military applications The Senior Development Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating engine development work, including pre-test planning, detailed specification and writing of testing instructions, reviewing test data to ensure quality and post-test data analysis. Roles will vary by project but could include engine calibration, system performance analysis, component development as well as paper based studies investigating new and innovative technology.

THE PERSON:

Our client is looking for an Engineer with a minimum 5 years Drivetrain Development experience.
Accredited Engineering Degree or relevant experience and demonstrated competency.
Strong understanding of engine component development.
Performance calibration experience in off-highway diesel engine components.
FMEA and 8D problem solving awareness.
Working with technologies to contribute and support development of new and legacy engines for military applications would be beneficial.
Lead technical discussions and to understand the interactions which influence powertrain performance
Present updates and information to senior levels of managements within multiple functions of the business.

THE BENEFITS:

This is a contracting position with a pay rate between £30 to £35 Ltd Co, dependent on experience.
