This firm is a market leader in the automotive sector and provide specialist trim solutions across the world working with major automotive clients.
Their offices cover the UK and Europe and operate on projects from prototype, test, design, manufacture and production, located in rural Oxfordshire and accessible from many different locations.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who has a high level of experience designing mechanical assemblies, ideally from the pressing industry. The role is based in an automotive supplier so automotive experience is essential (TS16949) with exposure to both clients and customers. It's an all encompassing role from initial design onwards (3D CAD capability is essential), through BOM stage, quotations, design, test and production, you'll be responsible for overall design of the product and looking after the budget for said product. FMEA/PPAP experience is essential (to include documentation) as is having worked to a "right first time" philosophy.
There is no direct management of staff involved but you will be expected to chair design and projects meetings and provide updates to other staff in relation to your project, a varied role that will offer complete design autonomy with a firm that are established and having a great 2012 so far.
