For nearly two decades our client Xtrac Ltd has ensured that customers from all sectors meet, or even exceed, their targets by drawing on their unique blend of design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Specialising in Transmission Technology, supplying the Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Marine and Motor Sports Sectors.

They are now seeking an experienced CNC Turner for a Night shift role in their state of the art facility in Berkshire.

Reporting to the Turning and Milling Manager you will be responsible for programming, editing and operating a range of Okuma machines to produce transmission system parts to the company s quality standards.


As well as having sound knowledge of Manual Turning, you must be self sufficient enough to make fixtures and tooling, and have experience of working with small batches, sometimes of a complex nature.


You must be able to understand complex engineering drawings and instructions, be able to visualise finished products and have a good understanding of the properties of the materials we work with.
Ideally you will have completed a formal apprenticeship and have 3-5 years general engineering experience including turning and toolmaking, ideally in the automotive, aerospace or motorsport industries.
You should have at least proven programming experience, ideally being able to use and understand Okuma OSP - IGF Edgecam or similar off line programming system would be an advantage, as would experience of Mitutoyo CCM to self check work.

Dayshift core hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00am 5.00pm and Nightshift core hours are Monday to Thursday 7.00pm 6.00am. For both roles you should have a flexible attitude to overtime.
