Client is a leading supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components for all of the world"s major automakers.

We are currently seeking to recruit an ITS Infotainment Software Engineer on a 12 month contract basis.

The role is predominantly based in the open-plan department in the Coventry office, although regular travel to customer sites and occasional travel to other branch offices is required. Occasional travel to international technical meetings, conferences, and workshops may also be required.

Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, the individual will be responsible for:

* Supporting software design
* Developing software
* Analyzing customer requirements
* Writing and maintaining software design specifications
* Testing prototype and production code
* Continuously developing technical and personal capabilities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Embedded software or related engineering degree or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience in a production-oriented role (get product out on time)
* Experience of quality management processes
* Experience in design and delivery of electronic system software / requirements / product.
* Analytical approach to problems, data
* General office PC (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), automotive embedded system design / development, Ethernet, C++ templates / patterns in OO applications, Linux / Posix, multi-threaded applications, Eclips, Clearquest / Clearcase, Doors, quality processes (e.g. FMEA).
* Communicates clearly and confidently, friendly and approachable.
* Happy to work in a consensus-based environment.
* Manages stressful timescales well.
* Flexible approach to work occasional weekends, early starts, unsociable hours, occasional travel

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Specific training / qualification / experience in embedded software design and development
* Intel KP environment, Freescale iMX environment, MS Dev Studio, Makefile, GDB, GenIVI architectures, Qt, Jira, Scrum / Agile processes
* Good use of information to build and present a point of view.
* Interest in Electronics, gadgets, cars
