Client is a leading supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components for all of the world"s major automakers.

We are currently seeking to recruit an ITS Infotainment Systems Engineer on a 12 month contract basis.

The role is predominantly based in the open-plan ITS department in the Coventry office, although approximately 30-50% of a typical week will be at the customer's site during development and delivery phase of the project cycle. Regular travel to the customer sites and occasional travel to other offices is required

Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, the individual will be responsible for:

* Supporting hardware and software design
* Analyzing customer requirements
* Perform gap analysis and propose solutions for the requirements
* Writing and maintaining specification
* Testing prototype and production components
* Supporting customer meetings / workshops, continuously developing technical and personal capabilities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Infotainment, electronics, systems or related engineering degree or equivalent experience
* General office PC (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project), automotive embedded system design / development, Ethernet, Clearquest / Clearcase, Doors.
* Previous experience either in a production-oriented role (get product out on time) or customer-facing role.
* Automotive or similar embedded systems background.
* Experience of one or mere of RF tuners, media players, hands-free telephony, wireless communications, vehicle diagnostics, user-interface development.
* Analytical approach to problems, data, presentation.
* Communicates clearly and confidently. Friendly and approachable.
* Happy to work in a consensus-based environment.
* Manages stressful meeting environment well.
* Full driving license, willing and able to travel within the EU at short notice, occasional weekend working, early starts, unsociable hours.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Specific training / qualification / experience in infotainment related field, such as automotive head-unit design / development, entertainment feature design / development.
* Weird network analysis tools e.g. CANalyzer, design analysis e.g. FMEA, Six-Sigma, Linux, Intel automotive platforms, Jira
* Experience in design and delivery of electronic system design / requirements / product.
* Good use of information to build and present a point of view
* Interest in Electronics, gadgets, cars
