Principal Power Supply and Energy Storage Engineer

Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.

This role is based in the West Midlands, close to the M40 and is commutable from Birmingham, Rugby, Coventry, Warwick and Nuneaton, and has occasional travel.
You will provide technical support for power supply and energy storage across all projects. You will provide battery lead expertise for the hybrid / electric vehicle project. You will define technical requirements for all aspects of power supply and energy storage.

You will liaise with production suppliers for production design and implementation of new hardware, including acting as interface between production suppliers and engineering consultancies.

We are seeking an individual with strong technical capability and knowledge in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering to work on the development and delivery of the high voltage traction battery.

Degree qualified or similar qualification, with a technical knowledge and expertise in electrical and / or electro-mechanical design and development. Knowledge of the automotive industry is ideal, but not essential.
