Transmission and Driveline Project Engineer

£25.70 - 25.70 per hour

The main focus for Powertrain Research and Technology is solutions for next generation Powertrains, and the group aim to deliver concepts through research in cooperation with our internal and external network. The team manages a growing number of projects. The Project Engineer will be involved in: monitoring future transmissions developments and requirements, developing technology strategies, defining new transmission and driveline research, identifying partners, initiating and leading projects to deliver technologies to vehicle programmes.

Skills Required:
Self driven, excellent team working skills, and be enthusiastic about project management, motivating partners and colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver results. Good working knowledge of product pre-development processes and the importance of adhering to plans and commitments. Detailed knowledge of Transmissions and Driveline systems, especially gear train design.

Skills Preferred:
Detailed knowledge of Transmissions and Driveline system market trends. Detailed knowledge of Pre-development activities, from research proposal through approvals and implementation readiness.

Experience Required:
Able to demonstrate expertise in Transmissions and Driveline integration in to vehicle platforms.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of System Strategy Review paper creation and delivery. Experienced transmissions CAE analyst using appropriate tools e.g. MASTA.

Education Required:
Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline is essential.
