Programme Engineer
Wantage, Oxfordshire, England
A leading motorsport company are looking for a Programme Engineer. Reporting to the Project Manager, the primary role involves leading and supporting programme team members and functional representatives in the planning, co-ordination, approval, reporting and delivery of all programme activities relating to a new supercar programme with Williams F1 and JLR.
1. Lead, control and reporting status of engineering design releases and driving release activity to achieve very tight timelines.
2. Evaluation and summary reporting of key programme metrics.
3. Lead the identification and management of critical paths for delivery of parts and processes to support vehicle on-time build delivery.
4. Lead, co-ordinate and drive the team to manage the completion of "deliverables" for programme milestone approvals.
5. Lead the programme Change Management activity.
6. Ensure programme timing objectives are met and use timely communication and escalation of issues to Project Manager and Functional department managers.
The successful applicant will be a self-starter and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, report and drive the on-time releasing of engineering data for vehicle build and part procurement.
An understanding of product development processes and programme delivery principles within mass manufacture is essential.
Person needs to have a very good level of vehicle engineering knowledge, be experienced in working to tight timelines
Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a "passion for the product" are personal qualities needed to succeed in this environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Experience of project management in order to meet demanding timescales is essential.
A good working knowledge of Change Control and Change Management processes is desirable, in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions, and so ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.
Previous experience within Programmes, Core Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering is considered desirable, with a good knowledge of the product development processes.
Possess good IT and analytical skills and be fluent in Power Point and Excel.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a whole vehicle Project Team environment.
