Position Overview:
CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER 1) Be the expert on market, category, shopper, consumer , competitor and the macro environment by leveraging all available data sources a)Develop client and competitor category intelligence and insights by tracking of price, promotion, format and distribution etc. b)Develop external category understanding c)Coordinate pre and Post launch NPD tracking d)Coordinate full post evaluation of 5 start activations 2) Develop a partnership approach with marketing as the sales lead through the AC process and for all NPD development. |
Skills Required: |
Significant experience in a similar Category Development role An engaging communicator with the ability to influence at all levels Leadership and coaching skills Presentation skills FMCG experience Highly numerate with the ability to analyse complex data Ability to provide insight and strategic direction into category plans. |

a) Provide & coordinate, input of market, customer and shopper requirements. b)External benchmarks c)Display requirements i)Outers, shippers, etc. d)Align the ATL with the activity programme e)Launch model development 3) Provide thought leadership around the POB vision for the category to drive my client’s category and brand performance. a) Lead shopper behaviour best practice and business thinking on category drivers b) Create the in store category vision and fixture style guides. c) Define and sign off core range and priority packs for the category. d) Key Priorities around the Big Bet activations: Tablet transformation, Bite size range extension etc. 4) Energise the National Sales Force behind category activity through inspiring communication a) Create externally focussed, category leading, compelling commercial propositions, aligned to the category and occasion based strategies. b) Coordinate and deliver marketing briefings to the sales team c) Be the Sales Lead to deliver the "Ready to Sell" for each project by ensuring all functions have delivered all launch requirements 22 weeks from in store date. 5)Support the development and adoption of client Sales led initiatives in the country a) Snacking b)Customer Category Vision (priority for H2) c) Customer into the heart of Planning 6) Support OBM to develop and implement "Occasion" based and cross category opportunities within the category and the country e.g. a)Morning start b)With coffee |
