Our client is a principal organisation within the aerospace industry and based from their site on the Isle of Wight, they are a first tier supplier of airframe and engine structures, components, assemblies and transparencies to a wide range of aircraft and engine prime contractors and other first tier suppliers.
On this basis, they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - SMD responsible for the measurement, analysis and report writing for all applicable Components and Tooling across the site utilising all available CMM capabilities.

Key accountabilities include:
- To carry out the measurement of Components during FAI and where applicable Production scenarios, the subsequent analysis of that measurement and compilation of the applicable relevant reports.
- To carry out the measurement verification of all Tooling prior to the commissioning of that Tooling in to the Assembly or Composite Manufacturing areas and the compilation of the applicable relevant reports.
- To carry out re-certification Inspection measurement activity and the compilation of relevant reports.
- To support other Manufacturing Engineering disciplines when appropriate.

The suitable candidate will have either an ONC or HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline supported by suitable experience. However, an engineering degree is desirable.
Furthermore, experience of working with CATIA V4 or V5 is required and the use of PCDIMIS and Verisurf software would be advantageous.
Experience of CMM applications including CMM programmes and developing measuring philosophy is also required.

In confirmation, this role is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight and you will need to have high levels of accuracy and an analytical approach.
