REQUIREMENTS: As the Senior Design Engineer you will report to the Heavy Duty Nozzle Product Manager and your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:br

To innovate solutions to the company's product requirements and generate specifications to required standardsbr
To participate and progress design analysis activities including FEA, Dimensional Analysis, DFMEA and Critical Features Analysisbr
To modify specifications and to assist in the implementation of product and process improvements in accordance with overall project objectives. br
To co-operate with suppliers and in-house manufacturing to achieve highest practical quality with lowest investment and product costs. br
To lead nozzle design and development activities for assigned customer and internal projectsbr
To coordinate product inspection work for assigned projectsbr
To coach and train colleagues, trainees, technicians, etc. as reqd. br
To contribute to Total Quality, QS 9000 and continuous improvement activities within department and businessbr
DESCRIPTION: A World leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of diesel fuel injection equipment are now looking for a Senior Design Engineer - Heavy Duty Nozzles to be responsible for the specification of diesel fuel injection equipment for the heavy duty business.
VAC REQ :The successful applicant will hold a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with proven experience in design of mechanical systems, preferably high precision, highly stressed and mass produced components.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate:br
CAD Experience - Solidworks preferred - detail drawing and geometrical tolerancing.
Design Tools Experience - DFMEA, DFA, DFM, FEA, DOE (eg Taguchi), the more the better, but not essentialbr
Experience of liaising with customers, suppliers, development, validation and manufacturing functionsbr
Arranging meetings, compiling agendas and writing minutes br
Report writing for design activities, documenting design decisions, analysis methods and results.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes eg grinding, heat treatment, injection moulding, forging, casting.br

Must be a self motivated, team player with an enquiring mind and a good understanding of engineering fundamentals
