We are recruiting for a Bills of Material Configurator on an ongoing contract based in Peterborough.
This role is within the Specifications and Customer Solutions department (SCS) with Configuration Management. The SCS area is wholly responsible for the prompt and accurate creation of level 1 Bills of Material. The work, in the main, is completed using the Teamcentre 8 configuration and is looked upon as a leader in the use and maintenance of that system. The area has gained a reputation for being a vibrant place to work with a philosophy of people development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To receive requests from all sales areas of our business and use that information to configure a build able engine Bill of materials. This to be completed by using the Teamcentre 8 configuration.
To upload Bills of Materials into the MFG-Pro and CAT EDS systems as required.
To use a number of different programmes and systems to include ESPEC (parts compatibility system), Teamcentre iPi (BoM configuration System), MFG-Pro, CAT EDS, Lotus Notes and all the database workflows within.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the timely introduction of new material into production whilst meeting the specific needs of the customer and business.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
A confident ability in using a PC, excel and understanding database systems

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Good data analysis and processing skills. Excel and Virtual Basic programming skills and an interest in database management. Use of ETAS and Microgen tools will be required to support test work as well as the ability to read and create automotive electrical circuit diagrams and fully understand OBD systems in support of specialist test hardware.

Knowledge of CAN systems and interfaces with other powertrain control systems.
