The Company is a major player in the UK`s food processing sector with well-known brands and family favourites. They are now looking for a Facilities (Maintenance) Engineer. In this role, your primary responsibility is to maximise site facilities uptime and reliability (steam, compressed air, refrigeration plant, fire sprinkler systems, and associated site utilities), ensure full legal compliance in all aspects of facility provision and supporting planned preventative maintenance programmes and resolving complex technical issues.

The role will cover:

  • Work in compliance with site safety and GMP/GHP standards and procedures and ensure compliance of all associates carrying out maintenance activities.
  • Develop and ensure delivery of an integrated and optimised mechanical and electrical reliability plan, including necessary PPM documentation.
  • Coordinate and complete planned maintenance activities, repairs and Works Orders throughout the site.
  • Diagnose, manage and resolve complex technical issues in support of the whole factory/section. Complete follow-up including necessary actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Identify, justify and initiate permanent fixes and improvements to equipment design, setup or maintenance.
  • Ensure that adequate home area efficiency and condition-monitoring data is available, collected, collated and analysed.
  • Manage the knowledge base of agreed key mechanical technologies and provide specialist knowledge as required.
  • Manage mechanical equipment obsolescence programme on section.
  • Monitor expenditure on relevant maintenance budgets to prioritise cost-reduction initiatives and flag exceptions.
  • Work with other teams to ensure continuity

    ONC or HNC qualified, with an apprenticeship background. You`ll come from a similar technical role. While this needn`t have been production based, it will need to have seen you take significant ownership for all, or part of a significant maintenance operation. Your ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues will be first class, as will your ability to impart your knowledge within your team.
