Located in West Yorkshire, our client is part of a British engineering group globally employing over 2,000 people in the UK and sixteen other countries. This highly regarded precision engineering business uses lean methods to manufacture high-value metal products - mainly for the heavy couplings and power transmission sectors.
An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced graduate-level Production Engineer to join a progressive Manufacturing Team. With good knowledge of a CNC and conventional machining environment, you will report to the Manufacturing Director.
You will be expected to facilitate engineering changes and promote continuous improvement including the use and championing of lean manufacturing techniques.
Daily duties will include support of manufacturing processes through the provision and amendment of routings, the writing of CNC programmes, provision of sales estimates and the use of 3D modelling software. You will also take responsibility for management of tooling, machine efficiency and engineering projects including the justification and installation of plant and equipment.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate engineer with a good balance of analytical skill and the ability to deliver results including a reduction in the cost of machining.
Commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield and surrounding areas.
