This major Aerospace company manufactures complex engineered products. Processes principally include machining, assembly and test. This is a forward thinking company, committed to modern manufacturing processes with a very strong order book.

This role is based in the West Midlands, close to the M42 and is commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch and Warwick.
The Lead Software Design Engineer provides the focal point for the software design team and reports through to the overall AEC Software Design Manager. The role is the lead professional for software design activities at the Birmingham facility.

Key responsibilities include resource management of the software designers, provision of technical and process direction and improvement for the teams on behalf of the Software Design Manager, and professional development of the software design engineers.
Personal Requirements:
- Experience in quality, cost, delivery management.
- Resource management across a protfolio of demanding projects.
- Capability of development and process improvement.
- Proven track record in leading teams and delivering high integrity, high quality software products.
- Software Engineering Processes and tools DO-178B.
- Experience in software project management and risk management.
