Advanced Engineering - Senior Engineer

Based on a very attractive University campus, this Centre of Excellence is building on its growing reputation for Electric Vehicle (EV) development. It has plans to expand it operation and increase the number of talented Engineers and Specialists it employs, working on new projects incorporating cutting edge technologies. This growth has created an opportunity for an Engineer to join its Advanced Engineering Group, probably taking on more responsibility at an early stage in their career. Based in Coventry, this location is commutable from Birmingham, Leicester, Leamington, Milton Keynes, Northampton.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work as a design / development Engineer on cutting edge hybrid and EV technologies including fuel cells and regenerative braking. You will develop technologies to the point of implementation readiness and then support commercial introduction. This will involve design studies, supporting test work, data acquisition and analysis. Good project planning and management skills will be needed together with the ability to research and understand any legislative issues. You will also be working with tier 1 suppliers for part supply and test services.
The role will be attractive to hands-on, practical Engineers, early in their career who are seeking more responsibility and technical challenge. Ideally Masters Degree qualified, candidates with a minimum of a 2.1 Honours Degree will also be considered. A background in Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Electrical / Electronics or Physics will be most suited to this role. Proficiency in a CAD package such as Catia will be necessary. Candidates must be bright, energetic, enthusiastic, quick learners and keen to take on new challenges. Must be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.
