Quality & Environment Manager required to work for a food processing company based in East London.

Description
Our client is a global sugar, cereal sweetener, starch and citric acid processing company and through their Technology Group they market sugar technology products throughout the world.

Job Requirements
The aim of the role is to initiate improvements in quality, hygiene and environmental performance at our client's sites and align with other parts of the group where appropriate. To ensure consistent compliance to all legislative requirements, using experience gained in the food industry to define and implement best practice. This role has strong links to all functional areas and the jobholder will be expected to work closely with personnel from a wide range of disciplines both within the company and other parts of the group as well as representatives of our customers and regulatory authorities.

Main Accountabilities
•Manage the QA relationship with customers, and enforcement agencies and develop consistency across sites and the group.
•Work with the operations teams to improve quality, hygiene and environmental performance.
•Implement quality and environmental management systems that deliver reductions in complaint levels and reduce our impact on the environment.
•Manage regulatory affairs to ensure 100% compliance with all food safety and environmental legislation.

•A thorough understanding of capabilities & objectives in the areas of quality and environment.
•An ability to adapt strategies to satisfy the needs of different cultures and operations.
•Detailed knowledge of food industry best practice and the ability to communicate this to a wide audience.
•Deep knowledge of quality & environmental management systems, and their implementation.
•Commitment to achieving the highest possible quality, environmental and hygiene standards by encouraging the involvement of all employees.
•Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders and audiences, and an strong ability to represent business interests to 3rd parties.
•Proactive and motivated by change.
•Ability to manage financial costs within agreed budgets.
