Xtrac Ltd is a world leading supplier of high performance transmissions, they are now looking for a Design Analyst to be responsible for providing engineering solutions to support Xtrac products.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that for over two decades has ensured that customers from all sectors meet, or even exceed, their targets by drawing on their unique blend of design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

Specialising in Transmission Technology, supplying the Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Marine and Motor Sports Sectors.



The successful post holder will be required to:

Provide day to day analytical support to the engineering group.

Ensure verification is undertaken, documented and recorded in a consistent and repeatable manner.

Undertake classical hand calculations and present such work in a clear and logical manner.

Undertake Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS.

Undertake gear design using in-house and proprietary software

Undertake transmission system analysis (including NVH optimisation, component fatigue analysis and gear change shift quality).

Undertake bearing design and analysis using in-house and proprietary software.

Manage and undertake failure investigations and report findings.

Develop MatLAB simulation of transmission systems.

Write reports for analysis and calculation work for internal and external customers.

Undertake basic CAD modelling and drafting on Unigraphics 3D CAD

Create Engineering Drawings and issue to the required standard.

Supervise student and university research projects.

Candidates will hold a BSc. or BEng. or PhD. in a mechanical or aeronautical engineering discipline and have excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure in a changing environment.

Knowledge of structural analysis and/or analysis of rotating machinery is required.

Experience of UG NX7.5 or similar 3D CAD system is essential.
