An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Engineer with a major Aerospace company manufacturing complex engineered products. Processes principally include machining, assembly and test. This is a forward thinking company, committed to modern manufacturing processes with a very strong order book.
The Quality Assurance Engineer will be part of a specialist team concerning itself with quality assurance for the airborne software, electronics and support processes required by external standards DO-178B, DO-254 and ARP4654.

The role of the Quality Assurance Engineer will involve:
- Planning and ensuring implementation of audits of the systems and software development processes.
- Monitoring the progress of project teams against the project quality plans.
- Liaison with and auditing of systems and software suppliers.
- Working with systems and software engine project teams to help continually improve the quality of the product and the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes and procedures.
- Provide support for audit by external bodies, for example certification authorities, air framers, ISO9000/TickIT.
- Provide weekly metrics and feedback to the EQA Manager.
- Provide regular metrics and feedback to project and the Engineering Quality Manager as required.
You will ideally have 3 years experience in a (real time) software development environment Quality Assurance / Technical Audit Experience knowledge of systems, software and hardware processes relating to the certification of Airborne Systems and equipment (eg:- D)-178B, DO-254 and/ or ARP4754 Engineering / software / computer science degree, or equivalent.
