We are seeking to appoint a Group Manager based in Stafford on a permanent contract.
The Group Manager is a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, responsible for the performance of a team of c.250 employees across multiple shifts.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with prior Operations or Manufacturing Engineering experience, and additionally one who has had prior leadership experience.

You will perform a key function as the leader of the machining business, working within the company s values and behaviours framework. The area of responsibility operates on a 24/7 operating pattern, hence the Group Manager must ensure cohesive and strong shift to shift alignment and communication. This role is pivotal to the success of the business and will strongly influence our performance during a period of transformation and development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To lead, manage and develop the Stafford Machining team to deliver against key performance targets.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement, focused on the customer and meeting key performance metrics
* Develop and lead positive and effective relationships with the shop floor team
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The successful candidate will utilise experience and knowledge gained through exposure to a range of functions/ activities within an operations environment.

Essential experience:
* Degree level qualified in an appropriate discipline (engineering or management)
* Operational Management / Leadership experience
* Accountability for delivering against challenging performance metrics
* Must have played a pivotal role in effecting a step change in improving performance metrics
* Must have played a key role in effecting a cultural change
* Proven track record of building successful teams through coaching and mentoring
* Demonstrated experience in Six Sigma and CPS initiatives

Desirable
* Desirable to have experience in leading and engaging team members
* Previous participation VSTs or RIWs
* Business Improvement Technique NVQ would be beneficial
* Relevant degree qualification
