Mechanical Design Engineer
Wantage, Oxfordshire, England
Williams Hybrid Power are developing electric flywheel energy storage technology for mobile, hybrid and electric vehicle applications and are now looking for a full time Mechanical Design Engineer to become an integral member of the team and be tasked with delivering efficient and robust components and systems for new customer programmes.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer functions include:
Component schemes and first level analysis
Component FMEA
Complete and release detailed drawings
Work with suppliers, inspection and build to deliver prototype parts for test and development
Work with test and development to formulate validation plans and feed the results back into component FMEAs Resolve component concerns
The successful candidate will hold a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience. Solid modelling and detail drafting capabilities are essential.
The following experience is desirable:
Experience of composites
ProE or NX
Design for a volume production OEM
Design of powertrain components for automotive or rail applications
Knowledge of relevant production processes, materials and assembly techniques
Knowledge of relevant quality systems and tools such as DFA, DFM and Design for low cost production.
The candidate will be self motivated, capable of working autonomously as well as working as part of a team and adaptable to the constantly changing priorities
