Vehicle Dynamics, VD CAE & NVH Analysis Specialist
Warwickshire, England

An important part of this project is to ensure that front and rear suspension elements being packaged are able to produce the highest level of dynamics capability and NVH performance under a broad range of operating conditions. This will require modelling to replicate a variety of scenarios including standard Kinematic and Compliance (KandC) testing in order to support and guide the design team.
It will involve looking at existing designs and new concepts across all of the chassis components and associated elements in order to develop and deliver a suspension system compatible with a ladder based chassis structure whilst delivering the vehicles attributes and performance.
Skills and Competencies.

Extensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics simulation using ADAMS, Matlab, Simulink or FORTAN
A disciplined scientific approach with an appreciation of design packaging, simulation and problem solving using DOE (design of experiments)
A good working knowledge of vehicle engineering (whole vehicle) with particular emphasis on suspension systems
A good understanding of test and development activities
Good personal organisation and written communication skills
Has a good understanding of the sub system elements (such as chassis, brakes and body control systems)
Good communicator whilst being comfortable working with a number of different teams
Objective driven with ability to focus on the solutions rather then just the problem
A working level understanding of Microsoft based systems (MS office suite etc)
The ability to work autonomously and within a team
An understanding of risk management
Confident in making data driven decisions
Experience (ideally)

Experienced in working with other design teams to ensure a coherent integration of attributes is achieved.
Has had practical experience in supporting engineering test and development programmes
Can demonstrate a flexible approach to the way they work
Experienced at dealing with engineering conflict whilst remaining delivery focused
