This is a very friendly medium sized firm with it`s roots in the Midlands; they design, manufacture and produce key components for several industries.

The facility is accessible by car and public transport; they have a very good working ethos and support in each other in the work they undertake. Their trade is predominantly metals with metal cutting machinery as well as CNC and traditional tools.

This is not a typical Sales Engineer role; this role will begin as a more reactive based sales role rather than initial business development or cold calling. The role is to take over from a person who has been working with the company for over 30 years so initially you will be shadowing him. An office based job initially looking at responding to initial enquiries and chasing quotes that have been given; it`s a relaxed atmosphere and certainly not a "sell at all costs" environment.

You`ll be managing small accounts initially, dealing with existing customers whilst contacting old accounts to re introduce the firm to them. Working in a small team with established administration support also, it`s a role designed to provide you with the right tools to succeed and develop business for the company in a professional and diligent manner.

You must have a sales background (we are not looking for the "pushy" sales type) and experience of manufacturing or composites, metals or steel sales would be perfect. The role is definitively about quality rather than quantity of sales; a professional demeanour and attitude is essential.
