A Mechanical Engineer is required to work for a food processing company based in East London.

Description
Our client is a global sugar, cereal sweetener, starch and citric acid processing company and through their Technology Group they offer technical solutions, consultancy services and speciality sugar related products throughout the world.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
Experience of original design of mechanical equipment and machines which include as part of their construction items:
•Rings
•Rotating Seals
•Bearings (various types)
•Geared and Chain drives
•Circlips

Used to working with limits and fits for various mechanical applications as above.

Knowledge of Strength of Materials and be able to calculate criteria such as component loadings, deflections under load, shaft stressing, moment arms etc.

Good knowledge of machine shop practice, the limitations of various machine shop processes with the ability to communicate ideas and requirements to artisan machine shop personnel.

Sound engineering base of knowledge, with ability to ‘think on your feet’ of a solution where the facilities found in the UK may not be available.

Details
Can work on their own both in the UK and around the world, competent and confident to work with suppliers and customers at all levels.

Willing to travel, sometimes at very short notice.

Sound understanding of materials and material selection with the limits of use.

Working knowledge of PD5500

Working knowledge of BSEN 9001

Able to use 2D and 3D design package of some variety.
