Customer Quality Engineer

Our client is a supplier of plastic components and systems used extensively within the Automotive industry. An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer who has practical experience of co-ordinating and communicating Quality issues throughout a company as well as dealing with and resolving customer issues.
You will maintain Customer relationships via ongoing liaison and support, keep management informed of customer performance, requirements and expectations, support new product launches / transfers for customer product lines, facilitate timely response to open customer issues, ensure internal and external documentation is produced and maintained in response, track internal data and customer management expectations, identify areas of risk and support improvement efforts, ensure product / process audits are performed regularly and any non-compliance addressed, prepare and present pertinent data to management via weekly quality report/review, work with SQA to resolve supplier related issues affecting production or customer quality and support ISO/TS quality system requirements as per the Quality Manual. You will project a professional image of the company to customers / visitors and use the escalation procedure for any issues / concerns e.g. Quality / downtime.
You must be HNC / IQA Qualified with knowledge of quality standards, have demonstrable Quality automotive TS16949 and ISO9000 experience and be fully conversant with SPC. You must be able to comply with Health and Safety and Environmental Policies, General Risk Assessment, Manual Handling Risk Assessments, COSSHH Risk Assessments and the Safe System of Work documents. You will also be expected to take appropriate actions in emergency situations.
