Our client is the main stamping site for this multi-site manufacturer of automotive body panels for many of the world`s leading vehicle producers.

They currently have temporary requirements for 2 Assembly Maintenance Technicians, 1 will be for around 20 weeks on a 3 shift rotation. The second individual is required to provide additional shift support and will be until the end of June 2012.

Hours on Shift:

Assembly Technician
Mon - Thurs 6.00-14.00, 14.00-22.00, 22.00-06.00, Fri 06.00-11.00, 11.00-16.00, 16.00-21.00 (one week change about)

Additional Cover: (approx to end of June)
Fri 21.00 - 07.00, Sat 18.00 - 06.00, Sun 18.00 - 06.00

As part of the Assembly Maintenance Team, the Technician is responsible for ensuring facilities are maintained in line with business requirements, and within budgeted targets. The technician will be part of a flexible Operations team and perform other tasks when required to ensure effective business performance.

Reporting to the Assembly Maintenance Supervisor, the Technician will have the following key duties:

* Ensure safe operation of the assembly cells, by ensuring safety systems are functioning correctly and operators, contractors and visitors are compliant.
* Ensure facilities are running efficiently.
* Ensure parts produced meet the quality requirements, without process deviation.
* Participate and support all corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives.
* Responsible training production operators to carry out autonomous TPM activities.
* Collect and record process data and down time information in a professional manner.
* Assist in training operators to run the cell in a productive manner.
* Ensure hazardous waste is disposed of in the manner defined in the companies environmental procedures.
* Support and assist all members of the team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience of maintenance within a high volume environment is essential, preferably with experience of automated Body assembly processes.
* Qualified to at least ONC level in Mechanical and Electrical studies is desirable.
* Experience of PLC logic and robotics essential.
* Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics is essential.
* Ability to work the required shift patterns including weekends to meet the business needs.
* PC skills are desirable for this position.
* Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
* Be able to work as part of a multi functional team.
* The possession of a clean driving licence would be an advantage.
* To attend off site training as required.
