Facilities Installation Engineer

£23.30 - 23.30 per hour
This position is within a Manufacturing Engineering group that designs, develops and installs facilities to manufacture and assemble Powertrain to Global sites. Within the role, key responsibilities will include: Determine optimum methods and facilities for the manufacture of engine components for engine plants worldwide in line with program cost and quality objectives, Support simultaneous engineering teams to drive cost reductions and continuous improvement and flexibility in manufacturing tools and processes, Support installation, commissioning and production launch at customer plants, Support cross-functional teams toward the improvement of equipment reliability and maintainability based on historical data, Support introduction of new technologies into our manufacturing processes.
Skills Required:
An understanding of any of the following: Component Assembly Processes, Component Testing and Diagnostics, Machinery/Robotic Controls, Instrumentation and Controls, A high level of motivation, initiative and creativity, Ability to work with a diverse team of Engineers, Vendors and Contractors, A flexible approach to cope with frequent change, Knowledge of engine design fundamentals, Cross-functional team orientated problem solving. Consideration will be given to recently graduated applicants that can demonstrate an understanding of the above but have not yet been able to gain commercial experience.
Skills Preferred:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills. A knowledge of/passion for the automotive industry. Knowledge of engine design fundamentals, including fuel, coolant, electrical systems.
Experience Required:
Experience of working within any of the following will be an advantage. Automotive or other high-volume manufacturing environment. Product or process planning, Quality Planning etc. Product Design within the automotive sector.
Experience Preferred:
Experience of functional testing of engines and/or components. Experience of Data acquisition systems knowledge. Experience of Instrumentation and Signal Processing. Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD
Education Required:
An Engineering related first degree with a minimum pass grade or 2.2.
