As part of its strategy of developing solutions to reduce CO2 emissions Valeo has recently acquired the Electric Supercharger business of a British automotive technology development company.
With this move, Valeo becomes the first automotive supplier to offer its customers a range of electric superchargers. Unlike exhaust-driven turbochargers, electric superchargers are driven by an electric motor. They now require an experienced Electronics Test Technician, as part of the R and D Department, with a demonstrable ability in the following:
Key responsibilities:
Design, assembly and test of prototype PCBs, wiring looms and test equipment
Build, preparation and instrumentation of Units Under Test
Troubleshoot electronic systems and PCBs down to component level
Investigate failures of electronic components/systems to identify design/manufacturing issues
Assist with electrical integration of hardware and test equipment into prototype vehicles
Support the preparation and execution of Product Design Verification (DV) testing
Support the preparation and execution of vehicle-based DV testing
Daily checks and maintenance of test logs during DV testing
Support Test Engineer in preparation of DV test reports
Calibration of various test equipment
As the Electronics Test Technician you will be responsible for:
Sound working knowledge of PCB design, assembly and fault finding
Familiar with use of oscilloscopes, data loggers, signal generators, bench power supplies etc.
Basic mechanical assembly
Test rig and vehicle-level fault finding
Prior experience of structured product testing, preferably within the Automotive sector
Ability to prepare and present test results quickly and efficiently.
Self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
Flexibility and discipline to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach suitable to working within a small team
Hands-on, practical approach to problem solving
Prior experience of working to defined standards and requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 ,TS 16949, ISO 14001) would be considered beneficial

Relevant experience - Automotive sector is preferred but not essential.
Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent academic qualifications (e.g. BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND
Experience of working to a structured product development methodology in the Automotive (or similar) sector would be ideal

  1. Electronic is a part of R and D Department. As a prior technicians will be responsible for the damages which is occurs.
