Cost

  • Maintain full control of Press Line, reduce downtime and lost production, you must notify the Stamping management team immediately of issues which have the potential to have negative impact upon production targets being achieved and stock losses due to scrap / mislabels etc.

Management

  • Proactively manage and coordinate Press teams
  • Ensure that SPM is maintained on Press lines and controlled by communicating with team members whilst carrying out ‘round by round’ reporting.
  • Ensure compliance to Press plans, report plan adherence to line management as and when appropriate by following escalation processes.
  • Ensure that Press lines are maintained to an exceptional standard by making sure that all areas are free of Scrap / Oil / Dirt and any other relevant factors which have potential to have a negative impact on production.
  • Conduct process audits to ensure compliance, report findings to Resources Coordinator and line management on findings of audits, support Kaizen activity plan, assist in supporting changes and improvements in department activities.
  • Provide feedback on any highlighted issues within any of the systems under direct control; liaise with line manager to assure compliance and performance measures are achieved.
  • Provide cover and support to Team Leader with absence cover across department

Essential

  • Experience of maintaining systems and processes of work targeted towards achieving successful outcomes.
  • Experience of managing part concerns / issues and carrying out investigations by using appropriate problem solving tools.
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out similar activities / work role including ability to Mig Weld (training provided for suitable candidate).
  • Knowledge and experience on Stamping working environment relevant to understanding production processes, Press setting / operating and Press Machinery requirements.
  • Shows willingness and a ‘can do’ approach towards being adaptable and flexible when needed in order to meet department and business needs.
  • Good communication skills, ability to build working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to provide accurate reports and data analysis in / from graphical format highlighting quality and resource issues within Press department (Good level of IT skills required; MS Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
  • Determination and drive to ensure Quality is maintained.

Desirable

  • An understanding of Lean techniques and their application.

Individual requirements:

  • Self motivated, used to working under own initiative, well organized, with excellent attention to detail. A ‘hands on’ approach is needed for successful completion of activities in this role.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, Team environment with a strong commitment to resolve problems.
  • Flexible in managing own / team based events and able to deal with changing priorities. Should have good organizational skills which support achieving tasks and objectives. 
  • Good communication skills, literate and numerate.
  • PC Literate in Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attendance record.
