Product Planning Analyst

Product Planning is a department within the Product Development organisation. Product Planning responsibilities include developing product strategy to meet customer and business needs, leading delivery of the initial vehicle program milestones, and establishing/maintaining vehicle definition. Typically the role involves understanding a task, defining what success looks like, and leading the activities to meet that goal. This requires collecting and analysing facts and data, and working closely with planning colleagues, other functions including Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing. The Product Planning analyst function includes:
- Program definition.
- Establishing program content in the early phases of a vehicle program development.
- Managing program definition changes in response to changing customer, business, manufacturing or regulatory environment.
- Maintaining and updating the program definition as a program progresses from inception towards production (recorded in Product Definition Letters, PDLs) Milestone delivery.
- Understanding the requirements of program milestones, based on the "deliverables" defined in the OEM global product development system.
- Developing and leading workstreams to enable on-time milestone approval.

Skills Required:
Self-motivating individual who shows initiative and drive. Good analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret facts and data to make sound recommendations and decisions. Good Project and Time Management skills to organise self and others. Microsoft Office skills and the ability to explore, learn and apply new techniques. Ability to work well in a team. An ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds is important.

Skills Preferred:
Ability to speak Mandarin would be beneficial.

Experience Preferred:
Proven experience in automotive development.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject.
