A Quality Engineer is required for leading Steel Processing and Production Company based in Smethwick. Our client supplies some of world`s leading automotive clients and has achieved QS9000 certification and TS16949/ISO14001 Accreditations. Due to company expansion plans at the production facility our client is looking for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.

This role would be best suited for a graduate qualified engineer with a couple of year's quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

Key objectives for this role will include:
- To attend APQP meetings on new projects and engineering changes and produce required documentation for same.
- To liaise with customers on a regular basis making site visits as and when required.
- Assures product and process quality by designing in process capability and quality standards.
- Research, develop and design new processes and manufacturing technology, to improve the present production processes.
- Ensure customer problem resolution activities, including costs for materials, labour, and time relating to customer issues via PPS / 8D process and on customer required documentation.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Be a part of PFMEA teams
- Uphold the standards of TS16949
- Always working within Health and Safety guidelines

Person specification:

The successful applicant will ideally have a couple of year's quality engineering experience and an engineering degree qualification would be viewed favorably. Also desired are the following:

? Good understanding of APQP elements.
? Experience of First Tier Supply to major OEM.
? Excellent problem solving skills.
? Good understanding of ISO/TS16949.
? A proven methodical approach to problem solving
