Machine Shop Manager

My client is a leading manufacturer of a specialised range of industrial materials. Are looking for a Machine Shop Manager to join their business based in South Yorkshire
The postholder will become part of the senior management team and be involved in the strategic development of the business.
The main duties include:
-Responsible for both the day to day running of the Machine Shop and long term strategic development.
-Manage and develop planning within the department to maximise efficiencies.
-Provide ongoing training to members of the team
-Use Lean Manufacturing principles to increase productivity of the department
-To ensure all health and safety requirements are met in line with current company and legislative requirements.
General requirements:
-Previous experience of running all aspects of a Machine Shop environment
-Strong knowledge of Manual machining including, Turning, Milling and Boring
-Candidates should ideally have previous experience or understanding of Welding and Fabrication techniques.
-Must have excellent communication skills
-Previous experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
