A Powertrain Test Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Basildon, Essex.

Description
Vehicle Technician. Interface to workshop and test facilities as required to achieve set tasks/goals. To work as a member of a team to keep vehicles updated with correct level h/w and controls. Arrange installation of required instrumentation with relevant workshop groups. Organize vehicle test fleet activities, climatic test in chamber and test trip organization. Arranging shipment of vehicles and equipment as required. This position requires sufficient knowledge & experience of Diesel Engines and their installation to be able to organize mechanical repairs and some investigative work....CONT.

Job Requirements
...Carry out administrative duties, documentation of vehicles registration, tax etc., coordination and records keeping, shipping documentation, requisitioning equipment and materials. Keeping and working to plans as required to support the calibration team. Some use of cal tools or test equipment may be required from time to time.

Skills Required:
Engine and P/T installation component knowledge required. Experience of Diesel Engines, and knowledge of their design & build required. Good communication skills in English language, written and oral. Ability to get others on board with assigned tasks. Ideally experienced in dealing with workshop environment/processes. Familiarity with standard PC applications required and with Ford specific systems an advantage. Full driving license. Experience of calibration tools an advantage. Training will be given if required.

HNC/ONC/ diploma qualified candidates invited.

Additional Information:
Must have UK Drivers Licence and be able to travel in Western Europe.
