Quality Engineer
Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England
£25 - 30 per hour + Up to ?30 per hour
The Quality Engineer role has a responsibility to actively contribute to the company`s aims and objectives. The Quality Engineer s main responsibility is to facilitate the rapid closure and verification of ADQ and internally generated Quality related issues.
Leading timely E/I/PCA implementation for customer quality issues and internally generated defects by working with operations, design and engineering teams
Internal CI support and ownership
Quality improvement project leadership
6 Sigma/RIW Subject Matter Expert support
Customer contact and relationship development in partnership with product support
Supplier contact and relationship development in partnership with the Process Control Engineering teams
Data gathering and manipulation for reporting
Major Issue management and ownership
Essential:
Significant experience within a Quality Engineering role
Competent PC skills and be in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, E-mail (Lotus Notes), and other corporate based systems.
Highly motivated, self starter capable of working and delivering results on own initiative
Professional approach and capable of communicating effectively at all levels within a business.
Desirable:
Educated to HNC level in an Engineering Qualification or above
Technical or Engineering degree level educational qualification is preferred
Experience relative of Perkins operational organisation and processes is desirable
Previous experience in a Quality role highly desirable
Examples of team leadership a distinct advantage
Good to verbal, influencing and numerical skills.
