A new permanent opportunity has arisen for a Test Data Systems Engineer in Peterborough.
A Test Data Systems Engineer position has become available within Facilities and Operations Support as part of Global Engine Development in Peterborough, UK.

The Test Data Systems Team have responsibility for developing, adapting and maintaining test software and other associated software applications for the whole of GED consisting of over 40 test cells in differing testing requirements with more being installed over the coming months. This is a very specific technical role, but with opportunity for other complex tasks with a large learning opportunity to evolve the role.

Key Responsibilities:
* Administering and developing layouts and calculations in post-processing tools (AVL Concerto, NI Diadem or similar) for diesel engine development and certification
* Development of bespoke software applications within the Test Data Systems team
* Provide solutions and support to GED and performance and emissions engineers using post processing tools
* Providing training and helpdesk support to a large engineering team
* Involvement in engineering project work
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in post processing tools (AVL Concerto, N.I Diadem etc)
* Knowledge of diesel engine processes and technology essential for developing calculations in post-processing tool.
* Experience in administering and developing layouts in post processing tools
* File access and handling, knowledge of a scripting language (VB Script or similar) is essential.
* Knowledge of diesel engine processes and technology

Desirable:
* Knowledge of Oracle database schemas and SQL
* Proficiency in developing, adapting and maintaining stand-alone application software and databases in Visual Basic.NET and MS Access
* An Engineering degree is preferred but HND level also considered if sufficient experience or expertise.
* Experience of D2T Morphee, Digalog and DSG test beds for channel naming and file handling
