Our client is part of a recognised centre of excellence in Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions, electronics systems, lighting and high integrity harness systems. The company is looking for an Engineering Procurement Lead to support business growth. The role will sit within the company s Commercial Department and will support major projects, bids and supply chain management.

You will be responsible for supplier selection and management of sub-contracted work packages and the development of a competitive flexible supplier base, focussed on year on year cost reduction. You will also be responsible for understanding and interpreting engineering requirements, including quality, delivery, specifications and price and ensure that these requirements are understood and reflected throughout the procurement cycle. Additionally, you will be responsible for the procurement of all purchased parts at the lowest competitive cost with full regard to quality, risk and any other prevailing commercial or market conditions and will ensure that all enquiries are sent out in a professional and timely manner to establish the most competitive sources to support the bid management process.

Other duties will include the negotiation of contracts, prevention of critical supply issues through best practice supply chain management techniques and pursuing Lean, inventory and consignment initiatives within the supply chain.
You must have excellent communication skills verbal, written and presentational, be IT literate and financially / commercially astute. You will have a HND in business studies / engineering preferably and ideally supported by full or part CIPS qualifications together with solid experience of using ERP systems and be highly literate in the Microsoft suite of programs.
