A world class Powertrain Development Centre has been established and continues to be developed in a very attractive location in the East Midlands. Dedicated to powertrain design and development for the next generation of vehicles, the UK RandD centre is a vital part of the Company`s future strategy to become the world`s leading automotive company. It is now seeking an experienced Gasoline Engine Calibration Engineer.

Whilst the Centre is based in the East Midlands, this role will be at test facilities in Warwickshire. Commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Milton Keynes. May also be of interest to candidates located near to Brighton, Crewe, Peterborough.

Main tasks of the job:

  • Control and manage EMS development
  • Co-ordinate and manage complete sign off
  • Responsible for the liaison with lead calibration engineers, project managers and technical specialists
  • Conduct testing in a vehicle or dynamometer environment, including gross emission tests as required to ensure legal compliance
  • Set up and manage project plans for each element of the EMS development
  • Report on the project status at program gateways and throughout the project
  • Manage the delivery of components to specification
  • Coordinates delivery of prototype parts for PT rigs and vehicles
  • Troubleshooting: solve the interface issues arising from rig or vehicle testing
  • Lead signoff during testing, integration and signed off
  • Understand and track on-going project issues
    Candidate requirements:
  • Degree qualified or similar qualification.
  • Strong Powertrain calibration experience and broad understanding of EMS features
  • Good communication, information transfer and inter-personal skills with practical, pro-active hands on approach.
  • Capable of working efficiently as part of a small team to tight deadlines.
  • Capable of leading a project element with support from more senior staff when necessary.
  • Detailed knowledge of engine design, development, validation and test processes.
  • Familiar with Powertrain project management tools and tracking systems
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with automotive powertrain systems controls (performance and emissions related),
  • Bosch EMS experience would be an advantage
  • Flexible to the working environment
  • Proven track record of management and delivery of a gasoline calibration development program
  • Experience in a direct injection program would be an advantage
