Based on a very attractive University campus, this Centre of Excellence is building on its growing reputation for vehicle and powertrain development. It has plans to expand it operation and increase the number of talented Engineers and Specialists it employs, working on new projects incorporating cutting edge technologies. This growth has created an opportunity for a Vehicle Validation and Benchmarking Engineer to join the Projects Team working on new electric vehicles. Based in Coventry, location commutable from Birmingham, Warwick, Leicester, Gaydon, Milton Keynes, Northampton, may also interest candidates in the Crewe area.
The main activities of the role are:

• Support the planning and delivery of vehicle validation and benchmarking activities.
• Develop and produce Engineering Standards.
• Develop vehicle instrumentation capabilities in line with vehicle development and benchmarking requirements.
• Support the Gateway reporting process for vehicle testing and benchmarking for identified projects.
• Support BOM development and management on identified projects.
• Supervise where applicable vehicle teardown activities.
• Support where appropriate the collection and collation of vehicle target data to support the attribute "Target Book" process.
• Write and issue Engineering Reports.
• Support overseas testing activities.
  Candidate core requirements:
• Degree or similar qualification.
• Strong numeracy and literacy ability.
• A minimum of 5 years Automotive industry experience.
• Possess good logical reasoning ability.
• Capable of leading a project element with support from more senior staff when necessary.
• Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service.
• Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical speciality.
• Ideally Chartered or working towards this status.
