Our client is a leading automotive component manufacturer of BIW components and sunroof assemblies. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the purpose of the role is to control the quality of the products leaving the company, ensuring they are to an acceptable standard and to develop the product and identify continuous improvement initiatives with the other departments. You will also be the interface with the customer and present the improvement plans using a PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) approach.

You must understand and be able to communicate the "Quality First" philosophy in your work, promoting the same across any colleagues overall and ensure that the quality standards to be achieved are understood by you and your colleagues where appropriate. You will also be responsible for the achievement of right first time quality performance and introduce quality control systems to support company processes across your working area and company overall. Containment activity is in place and when necessary, you will provide support, training and guidance where and when necessary in your area of responsibility. It will also be your responsibility to learn, understand and manage the company Quality Management system (IDEF) to assist you and any colleagues in any activities / processes and documentation control carried out.

It is essential you have an understanding of Quality Tools (capability, analysis, cause and effect, etc) and you will be expected to Set, Maintain and Report KPI data on a consistent basis and distribute and present data/ information to a varied audience on subject matter relating to your working environment (Quality Performance / KPI s / Issues). You must also have demonstrable practical experience of understanding measuring techniques, capability of reading and interpreting drawings (used within spot weld integrity and welded working areas), proven ability to remain focused and apply a logical approach during pressurised and sometimes difficult situations. You will manage quality related changes (Includes New Model Support), have strong leadership skills to support the Customer / company and Quality Management team, determination and drive to ensure Quality is maintained and reasonable demonstrable experience in the role of either; QRE / Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer roles ideally from the motor industry.
