An opportunity has arisen for a Metrology and Systems Administrator with an automotive business involved in the manufacture of aluminium based components and assemblies. As Metrology and Systems Administrator you will be responsible for inspection using CMM and other measuring equipment, capability studies, maintenance of the calibration system, and ensuring compliance to certification bodies and industry standards namely; ISO TS16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001

You will be responsible for: Inspection of components and assemblies using CMM, FARO gauge and other traditional measuring equipment. Creation and modification of new/existing CMM programs. Generate internal and external inspection reports. Release authority for finished products on a day-to-day basis. Maintain the calibration system. Laboratory testing. Support problem resolution (Customer and Production). Training of Supervision, Leading Hands and Operatives in use of CMM, Faro gauge and other traditional measuring equipment. Plot key characteristics on SPC. ISIR and capability studies.

You will also be responsible for supporting the maintenance of and updating of TS16949, ISO14001, ISO18001 through the business system. Carrying out internal audits for the above business systems and their respective processes within the organisation. Liasing with internal departments for completion of non-conformities arising out of internal audits. Preparing for external audits.


You will have experience in and be able to operate and program Co-ordinate Measuring Machines. Able to interpret technical drawings and CAD models. 5 years Automotive business practice experience. Business systems awareness, TS16949, ISO 14001 standards.

You will also have a good level of computer literacy and be competent in the use of databases, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Internet etc.
