Design Engineer (Draughting/Modelling)
Gillingham, Kent, England
A world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for a Design Engineer (draughting/modelling) to work on either a permanent or contract basis to produce Solidworks models/detailed drawings for components used in Common Rail Pumps for the automotive market, which will be based on current designs in most cases.
Diesel Common Rail Fuel Pump related components as required.
Detailing of components for current and future applications of CR diesel fuel pumps for the automotive market.
Assure GDandT and other drafting standards are applied to new component drawings.
Assist the Technical Lead/Principal Design Engineer with design changes that assure the program meets cost, design for manufacture, performance and timing goals.
Assist the flawless Launch for all new product programs
Facilitate fast and accurate two-way communication with development, purchasing and process engineers to assure robust design and flawless launch objectives.
Be positive, encourage, and share knowledge with all CR pump cross-functional team members.
Participate in design reviews if required.
Ability to produce and present technical presentations at design reviews is desirable.
The successful applicant will hold an HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent and must understand and apply physics to design work.
Solid Works modelling and draughting experience.
Industry experience in design draughting in a production type environment with good knowledge of GDandT and other drafting standards.

This role may involve some travel for training, working with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
