Development Engineer - Nozzles - Graduate Level

A World leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of diesel fuel injection equipment are now looking for a Development Engineer (Graduate Level) to work on either a permanent or contract basis and be responsible for the specification of diesel fuel nozzles for the Heavy Duty Business.
Reporting to the Heavy Duty Nozzle Product Manager the successful applicant will be involved in: Solutions to the company s product requirements and standards.

Participate and progress product analysis and to assist in the implementation of product and process improvements in accordance with overall project objectives.

Co-operate with suppliers and in-house manufacturing to achieve highest practical quality with lowest investment and product costs.

Investigate product performance and durability improvements, through validation programmes as agreed.

Lead nozzle design and development activities for assigned customer and internal projects

Co-ordinate product inspection work for assigned projects.

Communicate the nozzle development status at customer and internal meetings.

Coach and train colleagues, trainees, technicians, etc. as reqd.



You will also contribute to Total Quality, QS 9000, ISO14001 and continuous improvement activities within the department and business.

The Development Engineer will hold a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with proven experience in mechanical systems, preferably high precision, highly stressed, and mass produced components.


The successful applicant will have the ability to study a problem and identify appropriate analysis techniques.

Experience of liaising with customers, suppliers, development, validation and manufacturing functions along with compiling agendas and writing minutes.



Must be self motivated, enthusiastic with a good understanding of engineering fundamentals and a good response to timescale pressure.

Must have excellent organizational skills as well as an innovative, enquiring mind.
