My client a leading manufacturing company based in Sheffield. The company supplies precision components and assemblies to the aerospace, power generation, specialty automotive and oil and gas industries
Main Duties
Due to sustained growth my client are looking for an experienced Process Metallurgist to join their technical team. The post holder will be working with the Production and Quality teams to maximise efficiencies within the manufacturing process
Job description
-Prepare detailed technical reports
-Manage, monitor and advise on manufacturing process, ideally from a hot metal conversion background
-Design and prepare production routes to maximise efficiencies
-Enquiry and contract review to determine manufacturing processes and capabilities
-Work with production team to maximise efficiencies within the manufacturing process
-Prepare methods of manufacture
-Customer liaison to resolve any issues
-Investigation of non-conformances
-Assist customers with external audits of the company
Key skills and experience
-Candidate should be educated to degree level in Metallurgy or Materials Science or related discipline however relevant work experience also acceptable
-Understanding of quality procedures in a manufacturing environment
-Candidates should have experience working in a Metal Manufacturing environments and have worked with a variety of metals, including Steel and Nickel Alloys
-Understanding of inspection procedures, and quality procedures
-Be able to work as part of a team and also lead teams on technical projects
