Manufacturing/Production Engineer - CNC Machining Centres

A successful and expanding automotive tier 1 supplier of chassis systems based North Birmingham is growing its technical capability and winning major new business.
They are now seeking to recruit an additional permanent (or will consider contract) Production/ Manufacturing Engineers that has extensive experience in 5 axis and 4 axis machining centres. A technical specialist is required for this role.
You will be responsible for
- maximising efficiency of current 4 and 5 axis machining centres
- specifying new machining centres and commissioning such
- defining process flows and cycles, tooling, fixtures, visual aids, process FMEA.
- programming Siemens controls (training will be given)
You will already have experience in a similar role within the automotive industry or perhaps be a specialist for a machine tool company, and be interested in joining a large blue chip organisation.
Role Requirements
* Excellent metal cutting expertise on CNC machining centres
* Good cutting tool expertise
* Good Fixturing and Clamping experience
* programming experience and able to cross train on Siemens controls systems
* Good gauging experience
* Has worked on PFMEAs
* Has produced process documentation
* Prepared to be Hands On (Not a desk engineer)
Desirable Attributes:
* Some assembly experience
* Good communication/project experience
* Ability to also lead small projects and/or work unsupervised to a
standard project management process
