Based in Coventry this Centre of Excellence for the development and manufacture of Electric Vehicles has ambitious growth plans. Backed by its parent company, India`s most successful passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturer, it is introducing new vehicles into its recently established state of the art manufacturing facilities. This has created a new opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join its Current Model Engineering Team in a management position. This role will appeal to an Electrical / Electronic Engineer or one with a broad engineering background and exposure to Electrical / Electronics.

Acting as the interface between Engineering Development and Manufacturing; aspects of the role will include:

  • Interpreting and diagnosing customer originated faults and develop remedial action as appropriate.
  • Reduce progressively exposure to warranty claims.
  • Provide Engineering input to Manufacturing quality improvement.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality problems are investigated and countermeasures implemented.
  • Provide technical review of any changes requested by suppliers or Engineering to ensure there is no impact on system robustness.
  • Issue engineering releases to solve concerns and approve the consequential parts introduction.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure new or modified product content is integrated seamlessly into the production environment.
  • Use problem resolution / quality methodologies such as 8D analysis, FMEA, DVP.
    Candidate requirements:
  • Degree or similar qualified, HNC / HND.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy.
  • Possess significant Automotive industry experience.
  • Understand and have an appreciation of vehicle system integration, particularly CAN.
  • Extensive experience of development and validation of automotive ECUs. Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience would be an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate a highly systematic approach to problem resolution with good influencing skills.
