Validation Engineer
Gillingham, Kent, England
A world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for a Validation Engineer to work on either a permanent or contract.
As the Validation Engineer you will create, co-ordinate and maintain customer validation plans ensuring the pump is at the right place right time.
Ensure validation tests are completed to plan with optimum efficiency.
Ensure all lessons learnt / technical concerns are captured and documented and professionally tracked through to a satisfactory timely resolution.
Co-ordinate all validation activities that best evaluate product robustness to design and manufacturing process variation.
Establish analytically product life design margin, using degradation models for key pump components.
Diesel Common Rail Fuel Pumps and possible other pump related components as required.
Create/co-ordinate/maintain all pump validation plans for all customers.
Ensure pumps are on time and available for system validation tests.
Co-ordinate DV PV pump sample requirements to project managers ensuring pump delivery on time to plan.
Ensure all validation tests are continually monitored assessing rig efficiency
Communicate validation plans with validation facilities enabling rig capacity plans to be generated.
Manage and co-ordinate document design limit / process limit parts into validation tests.
Be focal point for all customer validation pumps returning to site.
Co-ordinate and document within a systematic approach pumps requiring analysis,
Be positive, encourage, and share knowledge with all CR pump cross-functional team members.
Participate in Program Project reviews and design reviews as required.
Develop and present technical presentations to Delphi team members on new or current pump tests.
As the Validation Engineer you will hold a Masters degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent in physics etc.
Must understand and apply physics to the development process.
Must be data driven not just opinion based.
Solid Engineering Experience.
DOE and statistical analysis knowledge is a plus. (Training to be provided if this is a gap).
Must be able to constructively deal with conflict situations.
Ability to develop and present technical presentations to Delphi team members.
Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
