Process Metallurgist – £28-£38k – Manufacturing – Sheffield

A process metallurgist with a strong forgings background and
experience of a variety of metals including steel and nickel alloys is required
for a varied role with a leading manufacturing company based in Sheffield.

You be working with the Production and Quality teams to
maximise efficiencies within the manufacturing process. The company supplies
precision components and assemblies to the aerospace, speciality automotive and
energy industries and this role carries equally diverse responsibilities
including;

- Prepare detailed technical reports working with production
and quality departments

- Manage, monitor and advise on manufacturing process,
ideally from a hot metal conversion background

- Design and prepare production routes to maximise
efficiencies

- Enquiry and contract review to determine manufacturing
processes and capabilities

- Work with production team to maximise efficiencies within
the manufacturing process

- Prepare methods of manufacture

- Customer liaison to resolve any issues

- Investigation of non-conformances

- Assist customers with external audits of the company

Candidate should be educated to degree level in Metallurgy
or Materials Science or related discipline however relevant work experience
also acceptable. You should have an understanding of quality procedures in a
manufacturing environment and of inspection procedures, and quality procedures.
